Milton Keynes-based MD Govier Electrical Engineering is celebrating its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of delivering electrical engineering services across commercial, industrial, domestic and specialist sectors throughout the UK.
Founded in 2011 by Director Mark Govier, whose career in electrical engineering spans more than 30 years, the company has grown through repeat business, client recommendations and long-standing partnerships. MD Govier says its approach continues to be based around clear communication, honest advice and delivering work to a consistently high standard.
“Fifteen years feels like a significant moment to stop and reflect,” says Mark. “We started with a notepad, a van and a genuine desire to do good work for people. The fact that so many of those early clients are still with us today means more to us than anything else.”
A Business Built on Relationships
MD Govier built its early reputation by approaching facilities directly and allowing the quality of its work to generate repeat business. This helped establish a number of long-term client relationships, including a partnership with Costco Wholesale that began at a single Milton Keynes warehouse and has since expanded to multiple UK sites.
Today, the company works with warehouses and distribution facilities, commercial properties, industrial sites, retail environments and local businesses across the country.
Its service offering has also expanded in response to changing technology, regulations and customer requirements. Current areas of expertise include LED lighting upgrades and energy-efficient solutions, EV charger installations, solar panel systems and renewable energy integration, electrical inspection, testing and certification, emergency lighting, data installations, electrical distribution systems and ongoing maintenance.
The founder-led operation has also developed into a wider team of engineers and support staff delivering projects across the UK.
Focus on Sustainable Engineering
As part of its anniversary, MD Govier is highlighting its commitment to responsible and sustainable electrical engineering. The company recommends and installs energy solutions designed to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs, supported by research and ongoing energy reviews.
This is an increasingly important area for electrical contractors as businesses look beyond individual installations towards wider energy strategies. The combination of efficient lighting, EV charging, renewable generation and electrical infrastructure is creating opportunities for contractors able to provide customers with joined-up advice and solutions.
Milton Keynes remains the company’s base, with its transport connections providing access to both local customers and projects further afield.
Looking ahead, MD Govier says it plans to continue investing in skills, innovation and sustainable practices as it enters its next phase of growth.
