NVC Lighting launches GREENLAND PRO: A better way forward for non-corrosive

Greenland Pro

NVC Lighting has launched GREENLAND PRO, a new high-performance IP66 non-corrosive luminaire range that combines its 2 FIX two-stage installation system with greater project flexibility and robust long-term performance.

Designed around the realities of commercial and industrial projects, where installation often needs to accommodate different programmes, trades and stages of work, GREENLAND PRO aims to give contractors greater flexibility from first fix through to final installation.

2 FIX: designed around the way projects work

At the heart of GREENLAND PRO’s installer-focused design is 2 FIX, NVC’s two-stage installation system.

Rather than requiring the complete luminaire to be installed as one assembly at the same stage of a project, GREENLAND PRO separates the base from the light engine.

At first fix, the base can be installed and the mains cables introduced. The light engine can remain separate until the project is ready for second fix, when it is fitted and the electrical supply connected.

According to NVC, this two-stage architecture gives contractors greater flexibility around project sequencing, allowing installation to be planned more effectively around the different stages of a job.

Prepared cable and conduit entry points, a movable terminal block with flying-lead connection and a detachable light engine provide further installation flexibility, with practical features designed around the realities of working on site.

The approach is intended to make installation efficiency about more than simply reducing the time required to mount a fitting. By allowing contractors to plan activity around the wider project, NVC says GREENLAND PRO can help keep work progressing through the different stages of installation and towards handover.

Flexible by design

GREENLAND PRO has also been designed to provide greater flexibility around specification and changing project requirements.

Available in 2ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft lengths, each version offers four-way power selection, giving contractors and specifiers greater choice over power and output.

The range also provides a choice of emergency, dimming, sensor and control options, enabling GREENLAND PRO to be configured around different project and application requirements.

Engineered to perform

Installation and project flexibility are backed by the performance expected from an NVC PROe solution.

Delivering efficiency of up to 169 luminaire lumens per circuit watt, together with IP66 protection and IK10 impact resistance, GREENLAND PRO is designed to provide the technical performance required for demanding commercial and industrial environments.

The range is backed by NVC’s seven-year PROe warranty, providing long-term reassurance beyond the initial installation.

Emergency, dimming, sensing and smart-control options further extend the range, providing additional flexibility across different types of project.

GREENLAND PRO is suitable for applications including car parks, factories, garages, workshops and food preparation areas, bringing together robust protection, efficiency and specification flexibility within one non-corrosive family.

Designed around the whole project

Ian Turk, Product Marketing Manager at NVC Lighting UK, says, “When we developed GREENLAND PRO, we didn’t want to focus on one headline performance figure or simply create another non-corrosive with a different set of features. We looked at the whole project, from specification and installation through to performance in use, and asked where better product design could make a real difference.

“For contractors, that starts with installation. How does the fitting support first fix and second fix? How does it fit into the programme? And how can we give contractors greater flexibility around the way installation is sequenced?

“That’s where the thinking behind 2 FIX came from. By separating the base from the light engine, GREENLAND PRO allows the base and mains cables to be dealt with at first fix, with the light engine fitted and electrically connected at the appropriate second-fix stage.

“It’s about designing the product around the way projects actually happen, rather than expecting the project to work around the product.

“But installation is only one part of the proposition. GREENLAND PRO also brings together the efficiency, flexibility, emergency and control options and robust performance required across a wide range of projects. That’s what we mean by designed around installation, flexible by design and engineered to perform.”

Backed by NVC expertise and support

GREENLAND PRO forms part of the NVC PROe range and is supported by the company’s wider project and technical services.

NVC supports lighting projects across commercial and public-sector environments, with experience across education and healthcare, alongside commercial, industrial and wider public-sector applications.

Customers have access to NVC support across the UK, including local Area Business Development Managers providing site visits, product demonstrations and introduction sessions, as well as the company’s in-house Lighting Design, Technical, Product and Project teams.

NVC works with electrical contractors, consultants, lighting designers, electrical wholesalers and end users, providing support from initial product selection and lighting design through to specification, technical advice and project delivery.

CPD and technical learning opportunities are also available for customers and project teams looking to develop their knowledge across key lighting topics.

Where a scheme requires more than non-corrosive lighting, NVC can support the wider lighting package through its portfolio of commercial, industrial and emergency lighting solutions.

GREENLAND PRO therefore represents more than an addition to NVC’s industrial lighting portfolio. The company says the range reflects its wider approach to product development and project support, considering how products are specified and installed, what they need to deliver in operation and the long-term support required by those who specify, supply and install them.
