Diffusalux from Thorn Lighting is a ‘stylish, robust, high-performance’ replacement for conventional battens. The luminaire’s curved opal diffuser is made from tough polycarbonate and provides ‘high quality lighting control’, explains Thorn. The internal diffuser features a distinctive ridged pattern that ensures soft, uniform illumination and its wide body make it ideal for refurbishment projects.
Diffusalux has three different lumen packages in one luminaire. The lumen output switch (LOS) allows ‘easy’ configuration of the output level on-site, all you have to do is select the preferred option before installation. The luminaire is also dimmable, available as DALI controllable (HFIX – LOS with 2 lumen outputs) and can be equipped with presence detection sensors (MWS) and integrated emergency. The LEDs provide a 4000k colour temperature, CRI 80 and a UGR <22 and offer a long 50 000-hour lifetime.
The luminaire offers flexibility with regards to mounting options as it is suitable for horizontal or vertical mounting making it good for both ceiling and wall installations. With its IP40 and IK06 ratings and screwed on polycarbonate end caps, Diffusalux for installation in ancillary spaces, corridors and staircases.
