Powerstar appoints new CEO

Powerstar, a designer and manufacturer of power management tech, has appointed David Seabridge as Chief Executive Officer as the company looks to strengthen growth and innovation across its energy technologies.

David, who joined Powerstar in 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, has also served as Interim CEO. He has been closely involved in shaping company strategy and improving operational performance during a period of transition.

Alongside the appointment, Solon Mardapittas has returned to the business as Chief Technical Officer, taking responsibility for product development across technologies including voltage optimisation, low loss transformers, and battery energy storage systems.

Leadership changes to support energy transition

“Having served as Chief Financial Officer and more recently as Interim CEO, it’s been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team during this period of transformation,” David comments.

“I’m looking forward to continuing this journey with our colleagues, partners, and customers across both Powerstar and the wider D2Zero group as we shape the future of energy resilience and smart power.”

Solon adds, “Our focus remains on delivering technology that meets the evolving needs of customers in a fast-moving energy landscape, where efficiency and decarbonisation are critical.

“We’re already working on technical developments that will bring Powerstar into a new era.”

Growing demand across UK industries

The appointments come as demand for Powerstar’s technology increases across UK manufacturing, the public sector, and the hospitality industry.

In particular, the food and drink sector is driving adoption in response to high energy costs and the need for efficiency and resilience.

A recent £1 million contract with a major UK food and clothing retailer will see 36 voltage optimisation systems installed nationwide.

These units are designed to reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions, and support the retailer’s net zero goals.

The rollout will take the total number of Powerstar voltage optimisation systems in the retail sector to 930.
