Electrical wholesaler Rexel UK will open a new branch in Derry on 26 January 2026, expanding its coverage across Northern Ireland.
The site joins the company’s existing locations in Belfast, Coleraine, and Cliftonville, and forms part of a wider plan to increase local support for customers.
The new branch also represents an investment in the area, creating three roles at launch with more expected during the first year.
Services for contractors and local projects
Rexel says its site will provide access to electrical products and technical knowledge for tradespeople, independent contractors, developers, manufacturers, and public-sector organisations across Derry and the wider North West.
Stock will include items from well-known electrical brands as well as Rexel’s in-house ranges. The company notes that more than 3,000 products will be available on site, with further items accessible through its national network.
The branch will offer same-day delivery on local orders, online ordering, and a 24/7 collection point.
Support for industrial users and project work, including logistics and national site-supply capabilities, will be available through Rexel’s wider UK operation.
Rexel suggests that the branch will contribute to the region’s shift towards lower-carbon and energy-efficient technology, including solar products, lighting design services, and electric vehicle charging equipment.
Derry City FC partnership
In addition to this news, the company has also announced its partnership with Derry City Football Club for the 2026 season, becoming the club’s exclusive electrical wholesale partner and an official club sponsor.
Rexel says the collaboration will include community work, club engagement, and operational support for future stadium projects.
Business Manager Iain Herron comments, “Opening a Rexel branch in Derry allows us to bring national capability with a truly local mindset.
“Our focus is on supporting contractors and businesses across the North West with faster access, trusted expertise, and the energy solutions they need to grow.
“By also partnering with Derry City FC, we are proud to be investing in both the industry and the community here in the North West.”
The branch will host an opening event on 2 February at 10am.
