Last chance to take advantage of funding for environmental technologies training
The deadline to access funding for environmental technology training under the Joint Investment Programme (JIP) is fast approaching.
Installers have until 31st July to take advantage of vastly reduced course costs, as much as 50 per cent, for the four main renewable technologies – solar thermal, solar PV, heat pumps and rainwater harvesting and recycling.Providing a timely opportunity for businesses looking to capitalise on the impending Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for domestic applications, Green Deal, plus Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs), training is available through certain National Skills Academy for Environmental Technology hubs with places limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Cathryn Hickey, executive director for the Skills Academy, said, ‘JIP, in conjunction with SummitSkills, provides a great incentive for building services professionals looking to up-skill into renewables. Candidates can be sure that training through the Skills Academy is some of the best currently available in the UK; all training is mapped out to National Occupational Standards (NOS) and meet current and future legislative requirements; a must for businesses looking to take advantage of the market opportunities presented by the RHI, FiTs and Green Deal.’
JIP funded installation training is available through the following hubs: Bedford College, Blackburn College, Carlisle College, Central Sussex College, College of Northwest London, Hartlepool College, Somerset College, Stephenson College and Stourbridge College.
