Award for Scolmore’s new locking connectors

Scolmore Group has won the ‘Best New Product’ trophy at this year’s Electrical Wholesaler Awards, for its IEC Lock range of unique, patented IEC locking connectors.

Scolmore Group also received two ‘highly commended’ certificates on the night – one for its Inceptor Nano tricolour fire-rated downlight, in the Best Lighting Product category; and one for ESP’s GuardCam Deco combined Wi-Fi security camera and LED floodlight system in the Best Safety/Security Product category.

The award-winning product, IEC Lock, is a unique mechanism for locking IEC connectors.  It is designed to provide protection against accidental disconnection of computer equipment, servers and most network devices by way of a unique and patented locking mechanism. The straightforward, high-visibility locking mechanism is combined with a simple release mechanism which allows for disconnection from all sides. Ideal as a retrofit solution, it requires no other equipment or special inlets to secure it.

Since the first IEC Lock product was introduced in 2010, Scolmore has continued to invest and develop the range. For 2019, a total of seven new products have been added to the range, which builds on the features of existing products to satisfy customer demand and complete the range offer.

Marie Parry, Scolmore Group’s Marketing Director, comments, “We are thrilled to have been awarded best new product for the IEC Lock range. This goes to show that it is not always about recognition for the latest smart technologies, but those products which provide a fundamental function in a clever and unique way.”

Applications for the IEC Lock range are wide-ranging and include military, broadcast, medical, transportation and data centres. A number of world-renowned organisations are utilising IEC Lock products to provide critical protection solutions.
