Thorn and Zumtobel UK and Ireland have announced their partnership with Cancer Research UK as the chosen charity for the 2024/25 financial year. Following an internal survey, employees overwhelmingly voted for Cancer Research UK, recognising the organisation’s crucial role in the fight against cancer.
Cancer survival rates have improved significantly over the years. In the 1970s, only one in four people with cancer survived their disease for 10 years or more. Today, this figure has doubled to two in four people. Cancer Research UK aims to accelerate progress so that in the next 20 years, three in four people will survive cancer for at least a decade.
Paul Kilburn, Managing Director Thorn and Zumtobel Lighting UK and Ireland, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, “We are proud to support Cancer Research UK and their mission to improve cancer survival rates.
