Sync Energy launches slimline EV charger, Link

Sync Energy, a UK manufacturer of EV charging equipment and part of the Luceco Group, has introduced its latest electric vehicle (EV) charger, Link.

Designed to integrate into residential environments, Link combines a two-part modular structure with smart connectivity and installation flexibility.

The product is available in both recessed (in-wall) and surface-mounted (on-wall) versions, allowing for use in new builds and retrofit projects.

Features and installation options

At 37mm deep when recessed, Link aims to provide a low-profile finish suited to design-conscious applications. It carries IP65 and IK10 ratings for durability in exposed locations.

The modular design allows the socket outlet and control unit to be installed separately while supplied as one kit, giving installers flexibility depending on project requirements.

“Less is more,” says Gareth Yeomans, Product Manager at Sync Energy. “The Link takes AC chargers to the next level, combining both charger and EV consumer unit into one.

“Whether recessed or surface mounted, the Link blends into the fabric of the building and provides a discreet finish for EV charging.”

Connectivity and safety

Link delivers 7.4kW charging through a Type 2 socket and is compatible with the Sync Energy App. It supports the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6J for monitoring and control.

Integrated safety measures include a Type A residual current device (RCD) and surge protection device (SPD), ensuring compliance with current regulations. These features remove the need for additional upstream devices or earth rods, seeking to simplify installation.

Link is being launched alongside the Sync Energy Flow range, which includes hybrid inverters, modular battery storage, and solar power diverters.
