Apprenticeship Week marked with insight videos and new JTL centre

As National Apprenticeship Week begins, JTL has celebrated the occasion by unveiling ‘A Day in the Life’ videos featuring two newly qualified electricians, Ben Gillin and Demi Whitehead.

Ben Gillin, a newly qualified electrician currently working at Lloyd Morris Electrical in Wrexham, recently reached the finals of SkillELECTRIC UK, where he secured second place. Ben’s video shows viewers his daily routine, providing insights into tasks such as fitting control panels and wiring panel doors.

Demi Whitehead, another newly qualified electrician, embarked on her trade career at William Davis Homes in Derbyshire after completing her electrotechnical apprenticeship with JTL. Demi was one of the eight UK-based apprentices to reach the finals of World Skills SkillELECTRIC UK. Her ‘A Day in the Life’ video captures the electrical jobs she completes on her employer’s new housing developments.

In addition to these insightful videos, JTL has announced the opening of its thirteenth training centre in Eastbourne.

To offer aspiring apprentices first-hand insights, JTL is hosting a series of open evenings at various locations for National Apprenticeship Week:

  • JTL Oxford: 5 February, 4:30pm – 7:00pm
  • JTL Norwich: 6 February, 4:00pm – 7:00pm
  • JTL Yeovil: 7 February, 4:00pm – 7:00pm
  • JTL Birmingham: 8 February, 4:30pm – 7:00pm

These events provide the opportunity for prospective apprentices and employers to tour the facilities, engage with JTL staff and gather information about JTL’s apprenticeship programmes.

Cathie Foster, Head of Marketing and Communications at JTL, says, “We are delighted to showcase the achievements of our outstanding apprentices, Ben and Demi, through their ‘A Day in the Life’ videos. Their success is a testament to both the quality of our apprenticeship programmes and their dedicated work to developing in their chosen professions.

“National Apprenticeship Week serves as a key event to celebrate the positive impact that apprenticeship qualifications have on individuals, employers and surrounding communities.”
