Pharos Architectural Controls has unveiled Expert – a new lighting control solution at this year’s Light + Building exhibition.
Expert is an all new, innovative and straightforward control solution centred around a single, reliable, set-and-forget controller. A lighting control system that behaves the way you work, with expertly designed hardware that simplifies installation, and commissioning software that makes programming easy. Expert guides users through setting up their system and creating their lighting design with clear, easy to follow helpers and walkthroughs.
Expert offers effortless control of decorative and functional lighting, while bringing artistic and dynamic control to even the most complex of lighting designs. Beautiful architecture can be accentuated, welcoming ambient spaces can be created, and stunning colours and movement can dazzle.
Benefiting from all the expertise Pharos has in dynamic lighting for architecture, the Expert range comprises of Control, Touch, Repeat and Switch.
Expert Control is a compact DIN rail enclosure with solid-state hardware for 24-7 operation and reliability. With up to 1024 channels of eDMX, two local DMX ports, a DALI port and two pairs of IO onboard, combined with simple networking for programming, installation-friendly connectors and test mode options, it’s a practical solution for dynamic architectural lighting.
The elegant Expert Touch is the accompanying wall station, ideal for projects that require frequent user interaction. The 5” touch screen provides automatically generated pages to access lighting controls, based on programming in each space, to activate scenes and adjust intensity.
Repeat is a convenient DMX splitter for output distribution, and Switch delivers PoE networking. Both are designed to coordinate with Expert Control in the same form factor and branding.
The Expert commissioning software is a brand-new programming platform, designed from scratch to provide all the tools clients need. With innovative approaches to scheduling and triggering lighting, and with fixtures, scenes and stations all belonging to their spaces, Expert software simplifies managing installations, luminaires and lighting design.
Spaces allow users to manage their fixtures intuitively – from one canvas to nested rooms and zoned areas, fixtures are naturally grouped where they are located. Scenes enable lighting designs to be fulfilled, ranging from just colour and intensity, through to creative effects and sequences that can be subtle, ambient, or dramatic. States are an innovative new approach to managing how lighting events are activated, with choices determined by logical combinations of tagged states – making set-up simple.
