Cable management manufacturer HellermannTyton has updated its High Voltage Cable Clamp (HVCC) in response to customer feedback and evolving industry needs.
First launched in 2018, the HVCC is used to route and secure high-voltage cables at fixed distances, ensuring they follow the correct path within an application.
While originally developed for automotive use, it is also used in rail, renewable energy, and electrical installations, and can support fluid management applications.
With the increasing adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, the company says customers have sought to standardise inventories using a single stud size. The updated HVCC range is now available with an M8 fitting, alongside the existing M6 option.
The new design includes a pre-lock feature, allowing cables to be held in place before the clamp is bolted shut. This should enable installers to fine-tune routing without having to support the full cable weight, improving ease of installation and aiding subsequent adjustments or maintenance.
Graeme Morley, Product Manager for Fastenings, Fixings, and Tool Systems at HellermannTyton, says, “Having responded to emerging industry trends, we are delighted to introduce a new and improved high voltage cable clamp which will enable our customers to achieve quicker and more flexible cable routing.
“The new model is intended to make our customers’ jobs easier, and our upgrades mean that users will now be able to manoeuvre, adjust, and service cables easily with a clamp that is highly durable and will last them for a long time.
“There are also added ribs to secure the rubber insert, ensuring no lateral movement when adjusting the cables.”
The revised HVCC is available in multiple sizes, with options for two- and three-way cable configurations.
