GreenBook’s Got The Right Specs

GreenBrook discusses the challenges facing contractors, specifiers and wholesalers when it comes to ensuring product quality and performance.

GreenBrook is renowned for the quality of our products, and we are now bringing our experience of manufacturing to the LED lighting industry. Already established as one of the major lighting manufacturers in the UK, GreenBrook Electrical is passionate about supplying high-quality and reliable LED fittings to the market that are independently tested and verified. There are more and more LED companies entering the market at the moment offering non-compliant products, but as active members of both BEAMA and the LIA we are working hard to try and stamp this out.

The UK will be faced with many challenges over the next few years where product quality and performance will become the forefront of choice for contractors, specifiers and wholesalers. Standards are rightly increasing and this should be embraced by responsible manufacturers to lead the way in demanding high-quality, performance and compliance from all their products.

In our industry, the specification of the lighting products we sell are often determined and selected by the lumen output stated on the packaging or marketing material. In speaking with our technical colleagues and consultants at the LIA, we have established that the LED lamp output values (lumens) can vary dramatically depending on which values are being quoted. This information can be very misleading as to what will actually be achieved upon installation, and this is dependent on a number of different parameters – i.e. whether the product has a clear or opaque lens, the heat dissipation values it offers and basic manufacturing variations – all of which can point to a loss of around 20% of the light output from the ‘raw’ lamp output.

We feel claims should not be made without performance evidence anymore and we urge you to question these statements yourself. The request for IES files, reports showing results/certificates from independent test houses and conformance certification must become recognised as standard practice for contractors and consultants when pricing projects.

GreenBrook Electrical’s lighting products are all independently tested. We are proud to manufacture high-quality LED lighting fittings and want to increase our LED lighting brand in the UK.

GreenBrook Electrical launched the VELA compact dimmable fire-rated lighting range in March 2017 and instantly raised the bar in fi re-rated downlights. Our 40mm high VELA Compact range became the smallest fitting to have insulation placed directly over the top. We have a full, independent thermal test from the LIA and can boast large projects with leading blue chip companies and electrical contractors.

GreenBrook Electrical has now launched the new VELA Advance LED fire-rated fitting to the market. We are confident this new range will become one of the highest specified products in LED fi re-rated lighting, as it has had rave reviews from our wholesalers and contractors alike.

These shallow 9W, IP65 LED fi re-rated fittings, with a true 92lm/w output, will offer a performance that meets the high demands of specifiers and contractors. Easy-to-install with fixed, tilt and antiglare options available in 3,000K and 40,00K, all fittings offer interchangeable bezel finishes of black, satin chrome, polished chrome and gold – ideal for both domestic and commercial applications.
