Makita, a manufacturer of power tools and outdoor equipment, has released the SKR001 Rechargeable Rotary Laser, designed to simplify levelling and alignment tasks on construction sites.
The tool offers long-range measurement, improved visibility with a green beam, and compatibility with multiple battery platforms.
The rotary laser provides a measuring range of up to 800m in diameter when used with a receiver, with horizontal and vertical accuracy of ±0.5mm and ±0.75mm per 10m respectively.
It features automatic self-levelling within ±5° and manual slope adjustment for consistent, high-precision layout work.
Designed for visibility and flexibility
The green laser beam aims to improve visibility compared with red-beam models, particularly in bright daylight.
Users can choose between static operation, three rotation speeds (150, 300, 600 rpm), and three scan angles (10°, 20°, 30°), depending on application.
The SKR001 is compatible with Makita’s CXT (12V), LXT (18V), and XGT (40V) battery platforms via interchangeable trays.
It includes a Bluetooth remote control with a range of up to 100m, auto shut-off, and anti-drift functions to maintain accuracy.
When powered by a 40V XGT 4.0Ah battery, the unit can run for up to 160 hours continuously.
Built for site durability
With an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water, the rotary laser is also equipped with shock-absorbing bumpers to withstand drops of up to 2m.
It weighs 4kg without a battery, intended to balance durability with portability for professional use.
Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita, says, “With a green beam to provide clear visibility and its multi-platform battery support, the SKR001 sets a new benchmark for cordless rotary lasers.
“It offers flexibility and high performance for professionals working on levelling and alignment tasks.”
The rotary laser is supplied with an 18V LXT battery tray holder as standard.
