Scolmore International gives Blackpool Pleasure Beach the green light

Scolmore International has supplied a range of energy efficient LED bulkheads from its Fumagalli outdoor lighting collection as part of the refurbishment programme for Blackpool Pleasure Beach – one of the UK’s most visited amusement parks.

A total of 90 Fumagalli Lucia and Maddi bulkheads have so far been installed, replacing the existing corroded light fittings with a modern alternative that will provide a long lasting, energy saving and low maintenance lighting solution. Hundreds more of the bulkheads are set to be installed as the refurbishment programme rolls out.

Overseeing the specification and installation of the outdoor lighting products was Owen Gillet, the on site electrical maintenance supervisor.

He said, ‘As part of an ongoing refurbishment programme we aim to replace all the existing lighting and a priority for us was to source products that are not just energy efficient but – given our exposure to extreme weather conditions – ones that are weatherproof too. Scolmore’s Fumagalli bulkheads provided the ideal solution. They are designed to last and have a lifetime guarantee against corrosion which makes them perfect for a project like this one. With no maintenance to be carried out and the energy saving properties of the lamps used – it all adds up to a very cost efficient solution.’

The Lucia LED bulkheads are located under the rain canopy in a very prominent position next to some of the key rides and attractions. They consume just 11W of low energy power and have an IP66 weatherproof rating. They are part of a comprehensive collection of Fumagalli lighting products exclusively distributed by Scolmore International.
