Woodward Group signs off strong Q1 with industry specialist hire

In the wake of sustained growth in new projects won, Midlands based mechanical and electrical contractors Woodward Group has bolstered its growing leadership team with an experienced new hire.

Chris Henderson has joined the company’s senior team as purchasing manager and will be responsible for the management and negotiation of the supply of materials and plant hire to Woodward Group’s multiple project sites.

His appointment follows another successful financial quarter for Woodward Group, during which the company achieved a significant number of project wins.

An electrical wholesale expert, Chris brings 13 years’ experience, extensive industry knowledge and a strong network of key industry wholesalers to the role. He joins from J&A Engineering, where he gained in-depth experience in the research and sourcing of materials, tool and plant hire, negotiating deals, and managing in-house stores. Prior, Chris was a key account manager at REXEL, a leading wholesale electrical distributor.

Of joining Woodward Group, Chris says: “Having seen Woodward Group’s incredible growth over the last year, I’m looking forward to using my experience to support the ongoing expansion of its electrical division, by bringing new ideas and assisting the team with the delivery of high quality, dependable electrical solutions on every project.

“The Woodward Group team are a fantastic, welcoming group of people, and I really admire their progressive, strategic approach to business operations.”

Woodward Group is recognised for delivering consistently top-level services to its clients, as Alan Woodward, CEO of Woodward Group, explains: “We are delighted the business is in the strong position of being able to expand our team and of the growing demand for Woodward Group’s services. I could not be prouder of the team, which has delivered an outstanding level of commitment to the company and all of our customers in the most challenging of times, all while carefully adhering to government COVID safety guidelines.

“Chris has a clear passion and dedication to electrical contracting. He will be an excellent addition to the team – and is the fourth new hire this quarter. Expanding our team underpins our commitment to organic growth, and we expect to maintain this strong momentum through the rest of 2021.”
