Unicrimp, part of the Scolmore Group and a leading manufacturer of cable accessories, has significantly expanded its established Q-Crimp Fixings range with the introduction of two major new product lines – the Bullfix heavy duty plasterboard fixing, and the Plus Series high performance woodscrews – alongside a broad selection of new fixings and additional sizes.
The new Bullfix range delivers exceptional strength for plasterboard applications, supporting loads up to 133 kg and offering fast, five-step installation.
The Plus Series woodscrews provide high performance, no pre-drilling in most applications, CE approval to EN14592, and enhanced corrosion resistance.
In addition, Unicrimp has introduced multiple new fixings lines and size extensions, further strengthening its position as a comprehensive, one-stop fixings supplier for professional installers.
A dedicated ‘Fixings brochure’ has also been produced to support the expanded range.
Bullfix: Heavy-duty plasterboard fixing for demanding loads
The Bullfix range has been engineered to deliver exceptional strength and reliability when securing heavy items to plasterboard in domestic environments.
Its patented ‘smartwing’ design ensures a tight, stable fixing across all common plasterboard types, including stud walls, dot-and-dab, and insulation-backed boards (12.5–16 mm).
Two versions are available:
• Bullfix Heavy Duty — supports loads up to 116 kg with a 7mm cavity.
• Bullfix Heavy Duty Extra — supports loads up to 133 kg with a 20mm cavity.
Installation is straightforward and can be completed in five simple steps – drill into the wall, insert the collar, push in the fixing, tap until flush, and attach the fixture – enabling installers to secure high-strength fixings quickly and confidently.
Primarily developed for domestic environments, Bullfix is suited for securing radiators, shelving units, cabinets, televisions, and other heavy wall-mounted fixtures to plasterboard walls.
Its high load-bearing capability delivers enhanced safety and durability for both the installer and end user.
Plus Series: High-performance woodscrews for fast, clean, reliable fixing
The new Plus Series woodscrews deliver speed, strength, and a professional finish across softwood, hardwood, MDF, and chipboard, with no pre-drilling required in most applications.
Key features include:
• CE Approved to EN14592 for load-bearing timber construction
• Zinc plated and yellow passivated (3–5 microns) for corrosion resistance
• Reamed midsection to reduce driving torque and prevent timber jacking
• Deep-cut thread for excellent pullout performance
• Fully threaded up to 40 mm for secure clamping
• Type 17 cut point for fast, accurate starting
Manufactured from high-grade C1022 carbon steel and hardened to 550–800 HV, the Plus Series offers increased strength and faster installation times.
A self-lubricating coating further reduces torque, minimises splitting and lowers energy use.
In addition to performance, the Plus Series range benefits from sustainable packaging, and the clear, user-friendly labelling ensures immediate product identification and reinforces brand unity across the Q-Crimp portfolio.
Expanded fixings portfolio: New ranges and size extensions
Alongside the hero products, Unicrimp has introduced a wide range of new fixings and size additions, strengthening the breadth of the existing Q-Crimp Fixings portfolio for both interior and exterior applications.
New additions include:
• High-performance wood screws (M4 and M5 thread sizes)
• Black round head slotted wood screws
• Metal expansion plugs (various sizes)
• Light CSK self-drill BZP screws
• 3.5mm slotted flat head countersunk machine BZP screws
• High-tensile hex screw sets (M6, M8, M10 thread sizes in multiple lengths)
