Hylec showcases new IP66/67 weatherproof Debox 11 junction box

Hylec APL

Hylec-APL will be showcasing its newest products specially designed for the electrical professional at Elex Sandown. Hylec’s patented Debox electrical junction boxes have multiple design features that save electrical contractors time and effort in wiring projects, both internal and external.

Debox 11 is a versatile and robust IP66/IP67-rated surface-mounted junction box with a total of 10 cable entries. All have soft membrane covers, giving a quick puncture-entry self-sealing system rated to IP66. The eight side-entry points also have a M20 size threaded entry for cable glands, with no requirement for an internal locknut, giving a higher protection rating of IP67. Specifically designed for interior or exterior use on projects such as lighting, outbuildings and anywhere exposed to water or dust ingress such as industrial environments, Debox 11 also has four PCB fixing posts in the base to take a PCB mounting plate. Maximum voltage is 400V, 32A. Debox 11 is manufactured from black, RAL9003 flame-retardant, impact-resistant polypropylene and is rated for use in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 100°C.

The Debox range also includes the miniature Debox SM40, which fits easily and neatly into the 40mm aperture required for most LED lights, and Debox SL2, the smallest five-pole electrical junction box on the market. Hylec invented the Debox range specifically to save electrical professionals’ time: all include terminal blocks, and some models feature a screwless connection option for faster install. The internal Debox range features screwless cable clamps, click closure and locking clip, plus spare, so the box can be re-opened if needed.

Also featured at Elex will be the weatherproof connector range which has models rated up to IP68 and IP69K, with impact resistance ratings of IK08 to IK10. This proven and extremely comprehensive product range has an outstanding pedigree, having been used on major commercial installations such as bridges and flood barrier systems, but is equally suitable for domestic projects.

The huge Hylec range also includes electrical enclosures in ABS, polycarbonate, galvanised steel and stainless steel in a wide range of sizes. Door enclosures are all lockable, metal enclosures have pre-wired earth straps, and many models have the option of solid or transparent doors for easy inspection of contents. Hylec’s DN multi-purpose outdoor range is supplied with DIN Rails, screws and everything needed for efficient and time-saving installation.
